The Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology at Technische Universität Ilmenau in cooperation with Fraunhofer Institute of Integrated Circuits (IIS) invites applications for the fixed-term position (6 years) of University Professor (W2) on the topic “Integrated analog RF signal processing”.

The post hold is expected to represent the field of integrated analog RF signal processing with particular focus on radio communications and remote sensing both teaching and research. The professorship will be part of the Institute for Information Technology (InIT).

Technische Universität Ilmenau as well as its institutional environment offer a manifold of connections/networking factors in the field of information, communication and microwave technology for cooperation in nanotechnology and mobility research. Therefore, in shaping new research activities, special emphasis should be placed on synergies with ongoing research projects and on a commitment to cooperate with the existing research and technology management.

The applicant, besides the professorship, will also hold a management position within the Department “Wireless Distribution Systems” at Fraunhofer IIS.

The applicant should bring excellent scientific qualifications in the fields of high-frequency technology, signal processing, IC design and system engineering as well as many years of experience in applied research and development in the field of analog RF signal processing.

International work and teaching experience and / or experience in international projects and networking are beneficial. In addition, experience in managing interdisciplinary research groups, experience in strategic planning, acquisition and execution of national and international R&D projects is expected.

Prerequisites for employment as a university professor are the terms given in the Thuringian University Act § 77 ThürHG, in particular the proof of additional academic achievements (e.g. given by a habilitation) and proven experience in teaching.
