Context: IRCICA has a set of equipment dedicated to the generation and analysis of signals. We are aiming at developing these Telecom test benches for two specific use cases:

  • Transmission tests for any class of few-mode fibers; 4×4 MIMO processing is necessary, although widely used in wireless communication, it is not directly transferable to fiber communication and adaptation to the optical channel is essential.
  • Emulation of railway communication using a channel emulator in the loop for IP level assessment of the link quality.

Expected applications: We are looking for candidates knowing either optical communication or wireless communications and eager to apply their knowledge on experimental testbeds. A good understanding of the radio channel is expected. For the optical test bench, the candidate needs to be familiar with MIMO processing. For railway communications, the candidate is expected to be familiar with different wireless standards (at least WIFI, if possible GSM-air, 4G and 5G). Depending on the use case, knowledge in Matlab and/or Labview are expected.

Both positions can be opened for Postdocs or Engineers, the goal of the project will be adapted depending on the profile.
